Personal Statement
My name is Derek Champlin and I have been swimming on travel clubs for 13 years. I am 6'1" tall and currently a junior at Seoul Foreign School in Korea. I have a determined interest to swim in college and have been training with an all-Korean team at the Korean National Sport University in Seoul to achieve that goal. In addition, I still swim for my high school team during their season.
I am interested in swimming for relatively small Division I or Division II schools and have a passionate interest in both International Relations and International Business. I am different in that I enjoy difficult challenges at swim practice and thrive in that type of environment where others may give up. I am a confident person who is willing to stand up for his beliefs.
