I have been swimming competitively for 10 years and have always had a passion for the sport. Ever since I was a kid, I had dreamed of swimming at a collegiate level. I am a hard worker, trying my best both in and out of the pool. In 2018, I decided that my commitment to becoming the best swimmer I can be required better training. At that time, I started the two hour commute to practice 5 days a week. During my time at the pool, not only do I work extremely hard at improving, but I also try my best to take on a leadership role and help guide the younger swimmers towards success. I help push my teammates to become better, therefore, creating healthy competition among our team.
Outside of the pool, I am a strong academic student. Expanding my knowledge is always the goal but I also aim for the best possible grades. I strive to challenge myself everyday. I believe that being a hardworking student has also helped my swimming. It keeps me disciplined and helps me stay focused on both my present and future goals.
I am also a pianist. I have found that playing the piano has become a way for me to relieve stress. Although being a pianist requires practice and hard work, it gives me the mental break I need from the rigors of training and school. I have been playing the piano since I was 4 years old and plan on continuing throughout my life.
My father was a college athlete, so I am well aware of the commitment that is required to be one. I hope that I can one day follow in his footsteps as it will be a dream come true. I can assure any coach that I will always study hard, train hard, and try to be the best version of myself.
