My collegiate aspiration is to thrive academically and athletically at a university that values both educational excellence and competitive swimming. Since I was six, swimming has not just been a sport for me, but a defining part of my life. It has taught me the essence of dedication, resilience, and striving for excellence.
At eight years old, I achieved a significant milestone by breaking a 30-year YMCA 100 IM record at the New York YMCA State Championship. This early success was a stepping stone, leading to setting the 13-14 age group record for the 200 free at the JO Championship. At 14, I had broken nine records with my swim club, reflecting my commitment and progression in the sport.
Ambitiously, at 15, I aimed for the Speedo Junior National Championship time standard. However, a hand injury during dry land practice sidelined me for ten months, halting my swimming journey temporarily. This period was challenging, but it also instilled in me a deeper resilience and an unwavering commitment to my goals.
Now, a Junior, at 16. I am back in the pool, stronger and more determined. This setback has not diminished my aspirations; it has reinforced them. I am steadfast in my goal to meet the Junior National Championship standard and to contribute significantly to NCAA college swimming.
