What sets me apart from other swimmers is my all-around work ethic and self-determination. Every year I have improved at least three to five seconds across the board in each of my events. As a person who has only been in the sport for a short amount of time, I have come to understand that it takes more than just team practices to be great. It is not common to find individuals like myself who are willing to wake up at 4 am to swim, workout 7 days a week and train up to 3 times in one day to get better at their sport while having the discipline to maintain above a 4.0 GPA. My parents don’t need to wake me up in the mornings for practice or remind me to do my homework because I already know what needs to be done. The people around me to include my parents, coaches and teammates have shown me what it actually means to be a great swimmer. I truly love the sport of swimming! I am determined to work hard athletically and academically to succeed and make my dreams a reality.
