Personal Statement
Ever since I was six, swimming was something I was always excited for whether it be a meet or just swimming for fun. I am proud to say nothing has changed throughout my whole swimming career, for I enjoy the sport more and more every day. Not only this, but it has taught me many things about myself and my habits. The discipline and the therapeutic repetition it provides for me daily has caused me to become dedicated and committed to the sport. This discipline and habit has transferred over into every aspect of my life, especially academics. I have been able to keep excellent grades due to dedication and the work ethic swimming has taught me, there's nothing like feeling the reward of hard work. Just like I am dedicated and in love with the sport of swimming, I am dedicated to keeping my academic integrity through the remainder of my educational career, including college. I have learned so much about swimming and how to overcome almost any pain or obstacle. It is this versatility that I live by, and I hope to keep this characteristic for the rest of my life. Continually, I am a very humble person as well as timid and analytical, and I believe these characteristics are what propelled me to also become the captain of my high school swim team. I have learned so much from this honor such as how to be a leader and an inclusive teammate, for I believe everyone has a purpose on the team. Ultimately, from dedicated versatility to humble leadership, I am proud to call myself a swimmer and a leader.
