I am Carson Brockette, a student athlete at Lake Highlands High School and member of the Dallas Mustangs Swim Team. I began swimming competitively at the age of four with the KC Sharks… a neighborhood summer swim team… and I have the same passion and excitement for the sport today as I did as a four year old swimming the 25 Free in over a minute.
Over the years I have enjoyed several other interests such as vocal music and Scouting, having earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2018, but swimming remains my greatest passion.
I work hard in the classroom as well, maintaining over a 4.0 GPA while taking several AP classes. I was recognized as a Scholastic All-American by USA Swimming in 2018.
My swim teammates are my best friends, and I believe I am a leader among my peers. My club coach recently selected me for a district leadership position and I always work hard to be a positive influence on deck.
As I prepare myself for college, I truly want for swimming to be part of that experience. I am undecided about my future college major, but I am most passionate about math and science. Through college swimming, I hope to find team spirit and gain new friendships, leadership skills, fitness, and experiences that will help me grow into a better person. As a swimmer, I will continually bring a positive attitude and motivation to the team. Working hard will be a continuous goal as I try to improve throughout my collegiate career. I will be a leader both in the pool and in the classroom as I work hard to keep my grades at a high standard. I hope to bring all of these skills and more to the team each and every day.
