Swimming is my passion and I am ever grateful to have had an opportunity to swim with my club, Lakeside Aquatics Club, and with my high school varsity team, Plano West Swim Team. I enjoy the challenge, camaraderie, and competition and want to continue to swim in college and beyond.
I have been swimming ever since my first visit as a toddler to the ocean. I started competitively swimming as an age group swimmer. Swimming has enriched my experience; I have had highs and also some setbacks. To compete in finals at the fast meets and to break my PR’s is thrilling! Not meeting my personal goals is equally disappointing. After having a great season as a 12 year old when I made the top 16 in several events at Texas Age Group Championship, I had a bad season right after, and I learned not to take things for granted. Being the youngest in my grade has taught me the importance of hard work to compete with older swimmers.
In addition to the opportunity to swim, I am looking for a school that will provide a challenging academic environment. I am particularly interested in computer science and engineering. I am currently taking a rigorous class schedule including AP classes, and have maintained my academic rigor. In addition to school and swimming, I also teach mathematics to high school and middle school students at one of the local charities. I believe that my current schedule has taught me how to manage my time commitments effectively and prepared me for the challenges of being a college-level student athlete.
I look forward to communicating with coaches to confirm that we are the right fit for each other.
