The reason why I play softball is because of the competitive atmosphere and that it pushes me to fight to become better than the other team. I love that softball requires teamwork to be successful. Working together as a team has taught me the value of relying on one another to reach a goal and through that trust, believing that nothing is impossible. The other aspect of softball that has taught me is that each game is an experience to learn and improve which is a never-ending path towards being a better player and teammate.
My position as a catcher allows me to think strategically and call my own pitches to outsmart the batter. I love the challenge that being a catcher provides, such as seeing the whole game’s perspective and finding ways to exploit an opponent's weakness. Being a commanding figure on the field that my teammates can rely on has also has taught me the value of leadership. Softball has challenged me to grow as a person. I look forward to the future that softball may hold for me.
