Personal Statement
Swimming at a 4 year college has always been something I’ve wanted to pursue. Most of my life, swimming has been an integral part of everyday living. It has taught me to compete and overcome challenges in and out of the water.
In school, I have learned to work hard and overcome dyslexia. This work ethic also carries over into the pool in practices and meets. Everyday I try to better myself by reminding myself of my goals and doing what I can to reach them. Throughout high school I’ve learned to manage a busy schedule with my leadership and mentor roles with both the Young Life and WyldeLife organizations. I have also been a member of the yearbook committee and an anchor on our local community news show, Hendon Live!
The camaraderie within these activities and on my teams has been one of my favorite aspects of high school. I strive to be a good teammate by encouraging others at practices and meets and by keeping a positive attitude.
My goal is to continue my journey as a student - athlete. I am committed to working hard, competing and being a part of a strong college community and swim team.
