Kane Hughes '25 Recruiting Profile

I started swimming for the Coeur D'alene Area Swim Team (CAST) Fall of 2022.  Prior to CAST, I just liked swimming and swam recreationally.  

Since joining the CAST, I have been working on improving techniques, increasing stamina, and better timing. And I see myself continuously improving with more training time and focused intentions in the future.

As a Junior in high school, I began to think about what I can contribute to a team and the direction I want to pursue.  As a Senior in high school, my thoughts are more focused on future career(s).  I am a driven person with an easy going personality.   My many personal interests and time intensive extracurricular activities kept me plenty busy through out my high school career.  It is most challenging to learn to prioritize my school academic studies and choice of extracurricular activities given a 24 hour day constraint.  

It is my hope to find a university that I can call home for the next 4 years.  A home that will allow me to find a balance not only between academics & swimming but also to grow and explore in a way that is most inspiring and least costly.
