My name is Aimee Cook, and I am a 5'10" 6-rotation c/o 2026 Middle/Opposite Hitter for The Oaks Academy.
I have been playing volleyball for four years, but sports have always been a huge part of my life. I have done soccer, basketball, gymnastics, and I swam competitively for nine years. My favorite part of volleyball is the challenge it gives me each day, and the relationships I have built in every level of this sport.
My team knows me as "el fuego," because I am always the loudest, most energetic person on the court, and I always give 110% effort. (Two of my coaches have even told me to stop running into the bleachers to save the ball!) I love being competitive and losing my voice cheering for my teammates, whether on the court or not. Watching my teammates succeed genuinely brings me so much joy, and I could not be more grateful for each of them.
I believe I stand out from other volleyball players, because I have been trained in every position except libero. I also have true perseverance, which has led me to appreciate the sport even more. Last spring I tore my ACL and meniscus, but I was able to start each game this year for my high school varsity team.
I want to attend a college/university where I can challenge myself in the classroom and on the court. I would like to pursue Kinesiology and Physical Therapy, because it would allow me to help young athletes get back to competing in the sports they love. I believe my work ethic and energy have positively impacted the teams and classes I have been a part of, and would continue to do the same at any school.
Thank you for your time,
Aimee Cook
