While in college, I’d like swimming to continue to be a large part of my life. My goal is to be the best teammate and the hardest worker in the classroom and in the pool.
I am self-motivated with a strong work ethic and goal oriented. Currently, I am the only male swimmer at my high school of around 400 students. My town is in a small rural community with few resources provided to swimmers, so to be competitive I must be proactive. For example, I have utilized the internet to provide personal sets, and technique changes in my swimming. When I have the opportunity to speak with experienced coaches, I ask a lot of questions. In addition, I actively participate in the weight training program at my school. My teacher, Daniel Robillard provides freedom to ensure I lift weights in order to drop time.
Year-round, I continue swimming at the YMCA in Yakima, Washington. Our team competes in the IES (Inland Empire Swimming) LSC. I've been with this team since I was ten years old. The team has allowed me to swim at a higher level of competition, such as Long Course Zones this upcoming summer. Even though swimming is a significant part of my life; I still enjoy snow skiing, vinyl records, water sports and time with friends.
