High school has been a whirlwind of sports, with me diving into three and eyeing a fourth. Swim is where my heart is, being only my second year in the sport and it has become a deep seated passion that I hope I can continue into the next stage of my life in college. Swim has taught me the power of dedication and perseverance. It's all about beating your own best, but when I hit that water, it's like a whole new level of hustle kicks in. I've swam through sickness, dizzy spells, and even puke-worthy moments, but every time, I've hopped on those blocks and plunged in, pushing past the doubts and the discomfort.
Track's a bit like swim, just on land. It's all about going faster, pushing harder, and leaving it all on the track. Then there's marching band, where I have been the drum-line leader on quads since Sophmore year. With band teamwork isn't just a buzzword, it's the whole game. You learn to speak the language of music and blend your sound with others, creating something truly beautiful together.
Junior year was a record-breaker for me, snagging five school records in swimming. Our team didn't just make it to states, we smashed through, making school history as the first boys' team to do so, qualifying with all three of our relays. Academically, I've held my own, juggling sports, work, and classes like a pro. Sure, there were a few bumps (hello, chem and algebra 2), but I've kept my GPA solid holding a 3.75 or higher every semester and my attendance has been top-notch. I was also able to become a member of the National Honor Society for my dedication not only to my education but also my community.
I'm itching to take on the next challenge, diving into the NSCA program headfirst. With my mix of grit, teamwork, and a sprinkle of record-breaking magic, I'm ready to shake things up and make some waves in the world of strength and conditioning to continue improving my skill and become the best athlete I can.
