For years, swimming has been a major part of my life, and I am excited to continue these aquatic pursuits in college. I began swimming competitively when I was six years old for my community swim team, and I joined Madison Aquatic Club when I was twelve. At the beginning of my club career, I was not very skilled or athletic, and I was placed in one of the lower level groups at MAC. Ever since then I was determined to improve and take advice from coaches in any way I could, and have made it into the top performance level in the club team, making it to Club State in 2018 and High School D2 State Meet in 2020. For various logistical reasons, I have since switched club teams, now swimming for the McFarland Spartan Sharks. At practice, I maintain a positive attitude and work ethic, even when times get tough. I am not always the fastest in the pool, or the most refined in my technique, but I am always eager to take coaching and advice, and always supportive of my team. My leadership was recognized by my high school team when they elected me captain during my Junior year. While I appreciate and enjoy the individual achievement aspect of the sport, I always work best when my teammates are depending on me, and never lose sight of the team spirit of swim.
In addition to my swimming career, I am a diligent and successful student and musician, competing in State level solo and ensemble contests for trombone and piano, as well as achieving high honor roll status throughout middle school and starting high school.
