Growing up as a child I was very into sports. I was always one of the most competetive kids out there, no matter what sport. Although my number of sports has narrowed, my competetiveness and want to win has not. Throughout 7th through my year now as a junior, I have played 6 different sports for my school's athletics. I have reached accomplishments in each, such as being starting point guard for basketball, making state two years in a row for hurdles in track, and making state each year in my high school tennis career, even reaching as far as the finals this last year. What makes me different though is I am a late starter. Truly beginning around freshman year, I never took tennis seriously until my sophomore season. Knowing I have this disadvantage, I have so much more of a drive and determination to win and to get better. Im playing in mutliple tournaments year round, taking private and group lessons weekly, and even going out 4 to 5 times a week 30 minutes away and hitting by myself or with peers, whatever it takes for me to hit a tennis ball every single day.
If I were to describe myself when playing singles I would say I am a fighter. I am very quick and conditioned from my multiple sport career and refuse to give up any points that have a chance of being won. I would bring a great attitude and leadership to your program, as well as encouragement and someone the staff, or my teamates can count on. I want to get more experience and knowledge out of college tennis, hopefully pursuing a career in some sort of coaching in the sport as I grow up. Putting me on your team would be the best decision you have made, and will impact your team very positively.
