Complete focus, preparing for the serve, the sound of the ball hitting the pavement, everything is completely quiet. You would think after 11 years this would get old, but it is something that I live for, just me and the ball.
I can honestly say that I have been a team player since birth. I am one of three kids. One of which is similar in height, athletic build, ability, intelligence…and only one minute apart from me. Some of my earliest memories are morning practices with my twin brother. We learned to communicate efficiently, and work together, even If it wasn’t always easy. Being a twin, I have learned the importance of both teamwork and individuality. Thriving as both doubles player and singles player, I have gained respect of my peers and was voted team captain.
Tennis instilled drive and competitiveness. I never could have seen the degree it would translate to my academic career. From being number one on the court to number one in the classroom. Once I appreciated the arcs and angles, key to developing my strategy, I could see my life as an engineer unfolding. I am looking for a program to further my engineering development. This is my time, ready to serve the ball on the next step of my life, I swing-game on.
