Wenbo Qiu '25 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Wenbo (Peter) Qiu, Currently, I am a 9.76 UTR, 

I wish I could elaborate on my tennis journey as I experienced some ups and downs that were unexpected. Back in 2021, I was a 5-star (top 50 Tennis Recruiting athlete). However, due to Covid, my parents decided to move back to China to reunite with my family. During those 2 years, I had to attend a boarding school with no tennis team, which forced me to quit tennis temporarily. I came back to the US last year extremely motivated, I started as a 7 UTR but in less than a year, I was able to improve by more than 2.5 points in UTR. 

I have split sets with an 11.4UTR (top 50 TR) and a couple of 10.5-10.1 UTRs. Some parts of my game are extremely strong where I could go toe to toe with the top players, and some have a lot of improvements. But since I want to keep this message as short as possible, I won't go into much detail, if you are interested, I can always let you know.

Academic-wise, I am very strong in terms of extracurriculars and grades. I took 9 APs from freshman - to junior, last year I had a 4.77 GPA. For extracurricular, I am the president of the biggest club at our school (Model UN) and have received one individual national award and one team national award. 

To conclude, I believe have the potential to keep improving due to my determination and motivation, currently, I am looking to play at a good academic division 3 school.
