I have been living and breathing tennis since I was 7 years old and brought onto the clay courts along the Danube River in Novi Sad, Serbia, where my family and I were living (and where my mother is from). Tennis was all the rage because Novak Djokovic had become a tennis legend. I fell in love with the sport immediately and have played or practiced every opportunity I could since that first lesson.
We moved back to the U.S. (Colorado - I was born in New York City) when I was nine (I'm 16 now). I started taking private and group lessons here and have developed my game through competition in as many USTA tournaments as we could register for and travel to.
As a High School Freshman, I made the Varsity team as 3 Doubles. In my Sophomore year, I was Varsity 2 Singles. Over the past few years, the hope to stay on the courts as a competitive college player has pushed me through more intense practice, cross training, and focused competition - which is why I'm here on this site. I want to balance my athletic passion with an academic career. I really do want it all.
I was born lucky. Not only have I been supported as a tennis player, I hit a growth stage and am currently 6'4 and over 180 pounds. Trainers have encouraged me to focus on my powerhouse serves as I adjust to the height.
My current tennis goals are to continue training and competing through USTA and High School Varsity - and push my UTR as as high as I can before graduation
And while there's no way to control my destiny from this keyboard, I know what I want. And that's also how I take the court. Arthur Ashe said eventually we get to a point where going for it is more important than winning or losing. I can't say I'm there yet, but I can absolutely confirm that I'm going for it.
