Personal Statement

Hi, I’m Teddy Aaron from Greenwich, Connecticut. Tennis isn’t just a sport for me—it’s my passion and a defining part of who I am. I’ve spent years training with discipline and focus, and my ultimate goal is to compete at the college level, where I know I can contribute to a strong program.

I started my high school career at a private school, where I played singles and had a strong run, reaching the quarterfinals of the NEPSAC Individual Tournament, finishing as a finalist in my league’s Individual Tournament, and earning All-League honors. Those early results gave me confidence and proved that I could compete at a high level.

Now I’m continuing my tennis and academics at Greenwich High School, where I’ve built on that foundation with even more consistency and maturity. I’ve developed a reputation for fast footwork, relentless determination, and strong work habits every time I step on court.

One big area I’ve worked on is handling nerves and staying calm under pressure. In the past, I struggled with anxiety during matches, but I’ve made huge progress. Now I feel more confident and focused—and I’ve started winning more because of it. Lately, I’ve been playing some of my best tennis. I’m attacking more, taking control of points, and going deep into tournaments against tough opponents, which has given me a huge boost.

While some older match results don’t fully reflect the player I am today, I’ve made huge strides in my mental game, physical conditioning, and competitive results. I’ve already spoken with several college coaches who believe I can compete at the Division III level, with the potential to push higher. I’m hungry to keep climbing, keep proving myself, and ultimately make an impact at the college level.

  • I'm starting to play at the Solaris Racquet Club this summer for ten straight weeks. It's one of the top clubs in my area, known for attracting highly competitive players with UTRs over 12 and top-level tennis athletes. I've heard great things about it—friends of mine who began the summer with a UTR of 6 ended the season close to an 8. I'm really looking forward to the experience and hoping to make significant improvements in my game.
