My name is Cameron (Cam) Lewis. I am a senior at Jeff Davis High (Hazlehurst, Ga). I live in a very small town in southeast Georgia. I started playing tennis in 9th grade and picked it up very fast. By my sophomore year, I was playing first singles on my high school team. I found out quickly that in order to get better, I had to drive to play with people who were better than me. I have been going to Jekyll Island for clinics on Saturdays, I also play people in surrounding counties in my free time. I string racquets for myself and others. I play in USTA tournaments and have joined a JTTT team in a neighboring county. This allows me to meet players and set up future practices with them. I play every chance I get. Tennis has taught me so much about myself. I have learned patience and self-discipline. While I play singles on my high school team, I love playing doubles. I know I have not reached my full potential in tennis. I want to be coached up. I want to further my education and further my tennis. I will do what it takes to play tennis at the next level. I would like to major in education (middle or high) and become a tennis coach. I know that college tennis will not be easy, I want it, and I am willing to put in the time and energy to make it happen.
