I fell in love with tennis years ago when my grandfather began to teach me how to play. From the very beginning he taught me to never give up and that has stuck with me to this day. My freshman is a good example of this because as a young player I faced opponents who were much older and stronger than me. No matter how difficult the match was I never gave up and I pulled off some great wins for my team. I used that struggle as a learning experience for sophomore year at one doubles. My partner and I did well in season and moved on as an individual doubles team to the first round of semi-state.
I treat the classroom with the same respect that I do with tennis. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout my time in high school all while pushing myself to take difficult classes and staying very active with extracurricular activities. I plan on continuing this focus through graduation and into college. I am proud of what I have done so far academically and athletically, but I know that there are much greater things waiting for me and I will not stop until I reach them.
