I have been on a regimented schedule since 6 th grade. I gave up all social and family trips (my siblings stayed in Md as I moved to Fla to learn the structure to be a true athlete) to devote 4 hours a day to training in tennis and 6 hours for academics plus 2 hours for HW. My work ethic has been formed by this experience. My parents always had this type of work ethic. Working 2/3 jobs, adopting 3 children from abuse and neglect (ages 3,5,6), and tirelessly being there for all of us. All are grown and still living in the Northeast. I broke my ankle 8th grade and wasn't allowed to play until late in 9th grade again. This was a tough setback. I transferred to Georgetown Prep to pursue a College Prepatory education. Number one on my team while playing tournament tennis was tough but necessary. There for my team and on weekends for good competitive tennis ... I appreciate the structure I had to help me regain my strength thru new coaching and a lot of work restructuring my game. A lot of loses and practice to see how to start winning. You learn so much thru perseverance and analyzing your losses.
Strategies for points not just hitting hard is my new motto. Watching Federer Nadel and a variety of players has taught me a lot as well. Watching Federer take 6 months off to regain his true game again has inspired me, NEVER give up.
Much more than just banging the ball but learning how to mentally structure a point. My dedication to academics (strong B plus range) and a sport I love tennis, has been a goal since I was 11 I live breathe eat sleep the sport. Growing up I had played a variety of sports up until 11. All helping me with footwork, hand eye coordination and being exposed to a variety of sports. It helped me get Narrowed down to 2, Baseball and Tennis. I also work with several charities Childhelp and Scamp. Both mentoring children of lesser means or abuse. I love working with them. As my parents say they are our future. I think all of the above make me a great contribution to a team. I won't let the team, you or myself down. Thanks for your time.
