My journey with tennis began at the age of 7, and though I engaged with the sport intermittently between the age of 7 and 15, it wasn't until my freshman year that a profound passion ignited within me. My commitment to tennis prompted my school to re-establish a tennis program, a program that had not existed at the school since the 1960s. After an abbreviated exhibition schedule my freshman year, my sophomore season was the starting point of my competitive journey.
Despite the initial difficulties of my first year of competitive matches, I seized the opportunity to hold the first singles position and was selected to be captain of the team. This challenging experience provided me with an invaluable lesson in perseverance, as I navigated through the ups and downs, learning to love and respect the game even more deeply.
As I head into my junior year, I am not only embracing the challenges of tennis but also challenges in the classroom. I have always prided myself on being the best student I can be. The dedication and hard work I have invested in the classroom have paid off. I have accumulated a 100.5 (out of 100) GPA, multiple Principal’s List Awards and Student of the Month honors (February 2023).
Reflecting on my journey thus far, I recognize the leaps I've made in my game last season and the summer that has followed. As I continue to evolve as a tennis player, student and individual, I am excited to contribute my skills, passion, and perseverance to a college tennis program that aligns with my aspirations to play competitive tennis at the next level, while getting a great education.
