What began as a middle-school challenge to learn a new sport after four years of playing baseball has become a passion. Tennis gives me a sense of control, confidence and accomplishment like no other sport ever has. I relish being part of a team and have found my stride as a singles player. Representing my school at the 2019 TAPPS State Championship in men's singles and making it to the semifinals was a highlight.
Now, with COVID-19 interrupting the 2020 season, I've set my sights on 2021 and beyond with a competitive college team. I am strong, resilient, agile, and aggressive on the tennis court. My mental game is on point -- honed by my versatile experiences in tennis, select league baseball, track-and-field, and football. Above all, I'm teachable and a supportive team player.
As a National Honor Society member and school ambassador, I am able to balance academics and athletics equally and excel at both. That ability will serve me well in college, where I plan to study pre-law in pursuit of a career as a criminal defense attorney.
My character is a reflection of my Christian faith, and I enjoy helping others through service projects with my school, church and family.
