Hello!
Since middle school, I have been fortunate to play for Marcus High School, a strong tennis program. (#11 in TCTA 2019 ranking for 6A). As a kid I played several sports, soccer, basketball, golf, and baseball. Once I went to a summer tennis camp that was it – I found my sport! I’m 6’3” now, but my growth spurt only happened in the past couple of years, giving me the physical edge to improve my game. I was named varsity team co-captain this year. Outside of school, I go to drills with my long-time tennis coach, who also employs me as “Coach Carson” for camps with middle schoolers and younger kids. Hopefully, I can continue to work as an assistant tennis coach in the town I move to, I really enjoy that.
No one in my family played competitive sports (only recreational / intramural), so when we found NCSA through a tennis showcase and started learning what it takes to look for a college and tennis program, I was excited to realize how many possibilities there are for all levels (NJCAA, NAIA, D3, D2, D1). I am still learning and working on my skills five to seven days a week. I love tennis. I love competing. And I want to compete in college tennis!
As much as I want to play in college, I know that college is a short four years compared to the rest of my life. The college I play for is as much or more important than the tennis program. Preferred programs will have a tight-knit program and community. While I’m undecided on a specific major, I’m seriously interested in subjects like medical microbiology, astronomy, archeology, medical research, and other sciences. I am a scholar and an athlete looking for a good fit. I hope you will find a spot on your roster for me!
