Hello, I am Payton Gillmore, I am from Thorndale, Texas and attend Thrall high school in Thrall, Texas. I started tennis when I was ten but quit to aspire basketball and other sports. However I still played in middle school (Only 8th grade year because of coronavirus ended my 7th grade season) and won district just based upon what I remember from being a little kid. I then stopped playing again until my freshman year when I fell back into love with the sport. I ended up with being our boys singles district champion and finished 4th at regionals. My freshman summer and sophomore year I worked really hard upgrading my UTR from 2.55 to 3.98 in one year. I won district again without dropping a game, however I just missed state finishing 3rd at regionals. I know I will be a great college tennis player once I get the chance; Because I got to where I am with not many resources around me as I live in a town with a population of 1300. I play with a very strong serve and attack the net every time I get a good chance to finish the point there. But I will grind out rallies if I feel that is the better way to beat my opponent.
