Hello coaches, I'm pretty sure I know what you guys are thinking... what does this everyday tennis player from a small city have that many other collegiate players and professionals don't? Well I'll tell you just that. My name is Ramiro Gomez III and tennis is what I'm good at, when I was in middle school (7th grade) I attended many sports from football all the way to swimming, but I still never felt whole and satisfied. Then, my friends and family introduced me to tennis. At first I thought "Seriously? Hitting a ball and running around, what's so great about that?" I attended my first game and immediately fell in love with the sport.
I am a self taught player, and I usually practice on my own whether it's somewhere as big as actual tennis courts or my little driveway. What has been keeping me going through this journey is the amount of support I have from my household; and my drive to be the best I can be. I'm passionate, dedicated and I will never give up until the point is over. Commitment is key in my persepective and I think I have what it takes not just to lead the team with my determination, but to help myself become an active and beneficial role in the college life, whether it's academically, or on the court. "Don't practice until you get it right, Practice until you can't get it wrong"
