When I first started running I only did it to stay in shape for soccer, but by the end of my first race I realized that I had a passion to continue keep running all the way in college and life.
I have been the leader for our cross country guys team for two years now and I will continue to be.
I have been voted by my teammates to receive our annual leadership award and sportsmanship award.
I always set an good example to my younger teammates on how to improve their running and contribution to the team; like I have helped train two of my teammates to jump from running JV races all the way to compete at the state competition.
I have gone by a moto to always look at the positives which has helped not just me, but also my teammates if they had a bad race/practice .
My running form has improved every season to help me reach new personal records.
While training for my season I also continue to have amazing grades in school with taking AP classes and taking the role as one of my schools few ambassadors (which takes great leadership and commitment).
I was nominated to represent Alabama in the 2019 cross country Down Under Sports competition.
Even though my 2020 track season was cancelled and I wasn't able to compete and set faster records, I won't let that drag me down; instead, it will be a big motivational factor to train even harder for the next season.
I've always had a mental mindset that high school is the start of my race all the way to the first mile, next college will be to mile two, then after I run my first triathlon I will hit mile three, and when I can't run any longer I will know that I have finally crossed that finish line.
