Growing up with a sibling, I became very competitive from quite a young age. This part of me has carried on today and it becomes motivation to excel in track and field. Until grade 8 I never ran competitive track and field and became a provincial bronze medalist my first season. Some goals of mine are to represent team canada, and to become a national champion in both the 400m and 800m. I consider myself a great choice as I work very well with other people but I can also work efficiently by myself. I have a drive to get things done when I am presented with a challenge and I never give up on anything. While many athletes focus so much on sport that their grades begin to drop, I put large amounts of my time towards my school work while also maintaining a healthy social life. Over the past couple years I have learned strong time management skills as that is something I have struggled with in the past that I wanted to change.
