My goals and aspirations are to develop my leadership abilities as an athlete and a captain of my peers, to improve my times, and increase my stamina and strength. Ultimately, I would like to gain entry into a D1 school and be able to demonstrate my talents at a national level and one day the Olympics. Currently, I am both the captain of the boys cross country team and the boys long distance track team. As a captain, I am responsible for warming up my team and ensuring they are properly stretched before each and every workout. Additionally, I arrive to practice early and leave after ensuring all of my teammates have a ride home. I strive to be a good role model by setting standards of behavior and having high expectations for my team.
What sets me apart from other candidates is the dedication I show to my team and my strong desire to take on the role of a leader. I have set multiple personal records within the past year involving the one mile and two mile events during track, and with the three mile event during cross country. On top of my rigorous training schedule, I have been able to achieve straight As in all of my classes. During my time in high school I have taken multiple honors and AP classes, and I am currently dually-enrolled in a college English course to satisfy my high school graduation requirements. Overall, I feel I am a good candidate for any college interested in recruiting me due to my leadership experience, ability to adapt to unfamiliar environments, and academic prowess.
