Throughout my life, I was very shy and was very nervous about anything because I feared letting myself and others down. But as my life went on, I grew away from that shell and grew to become a character of confidence, bravery, and strength. I learn from others and are motivated by others to be the best possible person I can be. I work with others and exhibit strong morals of leadership with my peers at school and not at school. I am different from other recruits in my personality and character which define the person I present myself as. I am very outgoing and very self-driven to do my best in academics and in sports. In athletics, I do the extra mile (pun intended) in order to beat my personal records and set higher stakes for me to follow. I currently am the top runner at Aquinas High School but that title does not define the person I am; that title is only attached to my person because I worked hard and practiced hard in order to achieve it. I was never really good at sports before High School, I would come in last in the mile, I wouldn’t score goals in soccer, I wouldn’t make baskets in Basketball, however, when I reached High School and began Cross Country, it was totally different. I started as the short Freshman who was decent in running, to the pretty fast freshman who was working hard to beat his previous times. In Academics, I prove different to other recruits because I maintain a 4.0 GPA while balancing many AP classes and Honors Classes with sports and Associated Student Body also Campus Ministry. I believe it is important to work alongside the school I attend through leadership roles like the one ASB presents to me. I know what I want to be when I grow up and also what I would like to study which contrasts many recruits who don’t exactly have an idea of what they are going to do in College and in the Future. I want to study Pre-Med as well as Social Work and become a oncologist in the future. My name is Alejandro Ayala and this is my personal statement.
