I first started running at about 10 years old with the kids running america program. In fifth grade, during field day, I found out that I was the fastest person in my school and I have wanted to compete at the collegiate level ever since.
In my high school career, I have not done a single sport without having some kind of injury. These injuries include shin splints; which turned into a stress fracture, and a dislocated shoulder; which lead to a surgery with a six month recovery. through having these injuries, I have had to take much time off from my training, but it has also allowed me to take a step back and look at my mistakes. I have been adjusting my running form and done tons of strength training not only to prevent further injury, but to make my running faster and more efficient.
I am persistent, motivated, and willing to put in the work. I have been told that I my current race times are good enough to go to a DIII school and that I could most likely make it to a DII school if I drop my times a bit, but my ultimate goal is to make it to a DI school.
To me, running isn't something that I do so that I can get to a good school. I base my life around my running and I am completely committed to finding the right college for me.
