I am entering my senior year at Roosevelt High School in Johnstown Colorado. I have been on the Varsity track team for 3 years with my main event being the high jump. I have qualified for the 4A state track meet my freshman, sophomore and junior year. I was the only freshman to qualify in 4A in 2013. My personal record for high jump is 6'5.25" which was accomplished my junior year. That jump ranked me third in the state throughout the season in 4A in 2015. I was All-Conference 3 years in a row and the last two I was Conference Champion in the high jump. I compete in many other events as well. In long jump my best jump was 20'-5". I ran the 100m twice and have a time of 11.72. I also recently placed 3rd in the Colorado State Pentathlon and broke the RHS school record. I am a three varsity sport athlete who also competes on the Basketball and Cross Country team at RHS.
I have earned a 4.0 throughout my high school career with my current GPA at 4.028 while also participating in many other academic extracurricular activities. I currently am 4th out of 234 students in my class at RHS. I am part of the STEM program (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and I am also a member of National Honor Society and Roosevelt A team (After School Tutoring). I have taken AP classes such as AP Bio and other honors classes such as Calculus and Chemistry. My freshman year I was the freshman boy chosen to receive the Masonic Outstanding Achievement Award. I have earned Academic All-state awards three times this last year.
I am undecided on my major for college but I am leaning towards Petroleum Engineering, Business/finance, or Medicine. I strive to be the best student athlete I can be. I have a good work ethic that can juggle many things at once and be successful. I pride myself on being very coachable and have the upmost respect for my coaches and teachers at RHS. I am a team player who was chosen to be a team captain for the boys track team this spring. I enjoy leading the group and also leading by example, not only on the field, but in the classroom and in my personal life as well. I attempt to set a high standard for myself and am working towards my personal goals so that I can continue to push myself to be the best I can be.
