I am a senior hurdler and jumper from Johnstown, CO. I have been was a varsity athlete at Roosevelt High School for my sophomore and junior years. Last year, my junior season, I improve immensely in my 110m hurdle time, improving by over 2 seconds. I also improved improved in my 300m by over 3 seconds this year as well. At the end of my junior year I also decided to try long jump. While not jumping my best, I feel with that with more coaching in this event, I will be able to improve a lot in this event too.
While I was hoping to make it to state last year in the 110m hurdles, I was shy by less a second, which was a little heart wrenching. I let this be my drive for my final year as an high school track and field athlete. In order to improve more this coming season, I took up cross country. While this is definnitly much different than sprinting, it has helped me train my endurance as well as stamina. This will help me improve in my 300m hurdles, which is something that I would also like to go to state for. During the winter, I also plan to attend a couple indoor meets to prepare my self for track season. All of my training and preparation will lead me to succeed to my highest expectations this year.
While I am aware that my stats aren't the best out there currently, I know that during my final year in track and field I will improve in all of events to the level necessary to compete at the collegiate level. I am also aware that I have started this recruiting process late, but I still want to pursue playing competitive athletics and am open to exploring opportunities at all divisions. I am interested in a college where I can pursue the engineering field. I think a school with acedemic distinction would be preferable for me, but is not a requirement.
