Running is not just a sport but an education process in itself. It helped me shape and guide me to focus on my education and guided me to be committed to what I work for, on or outside the track. As a rookie in cross country and track and field I learned from the upperclassmen mentoring me that working as a team no matter what grade, or position you are in was the purpose of succeeding and accomplishing your best as an individual and team. That helping other as well as yourself is what establishes one as a good a vital athlete. I have taken this at heart and mentor not only the younger rookies at our team but those younger in middle-school who like me will be wanting to keep running in High School and later in College. That is why running is not just a sport but a mindset that repurposes you as an individual.
