I am a rising senior and attend Tampa Catholic High School, one of Florida's top academic high schools. Tampa Catholic is preparing me for the rigors of college. It has not been easy, but I am a better scholar and athlete by not focusing on the end goal, but balancing and improving every time I compete, whether academically or athletically.
I started running track my sophomore year (shortened because of Covid) after playing basketball for 10 years and football for 5 years. I have improved y times in every race. My times in my junior year continued to improve so much I qualified for state.
On May 1st, 2021, we won Regionals for the boys 4X400 Florida 2A District 11 to qualify for State Meet in Jacksonville, FL. On May 8th, 2021, we finished 15th in the state after starting the year ranked 150 in one of the most competitive states in the country for track. Class 2A had some of the best times in the state regardless of classification.
My goals for Senior Year, sub 2:00 min 800 and sub 50 sec 400. That means 12 seconds and 8 seconds. 12/8 is my motto for 2021. In college, with the right program and coach, I will continue to excel. I am 6'5 and 150 lbs. Having run track for only about a year total, there is more potential to improve with additional weight and skills training.
I am very competitive with a strong mindset. I strive to compete at the collegiate level with a competitive track program and support the athlete academically and athletically. I am all about the team, and when I'm not competing in an event, I'm cheering my teammates on.
