As an immigrant, I carry not just the weight of my own dreams, but the hopes of my family and the pride of my country. Every sprint down the track and every play on the basketball court is more than just sport—it’s a symbol of how far I’ve come, and how far I’m willing to go.
My journey began far from where I am now. Growing up, I watched my mother sacrifice everything to give me opportunities she never had. Her strength, faith, and tireless work ethic taught me what it means to fight for a future. She is my biggest motivation—every early morning run, every late-night practice, I’m thinking about how I can honor her sacrifices.
Sports became my outlet and my passion. Whether I’m running a fast mile or giving everything I have on the basketball court, I feel like I’m tapping into a deeper purpose. I’ve worked hard to develop both my endurance and athleticism, and I’m proud of the progress I’ve made—especially in my mile time, which reflects my commitment to constant improvement. Track and field has taught me mental toughness and precision. Basketball has taught me leadership, teamwork, and heart.
What sets me apart isn’t just my talent—it’s my drive. I’m not just competing for medals or stats; I’m competing for my future, my family, and my people. I want to pursue both athletics and academics at the college level because I believe in balance. I want to grow not only as an athlete but also as a student, and ultimately use my education to give back to the community that raised me.
I want to be the first in my family to earn a college degree while representing my heritage with pride. Every time I step onto the track or court, I carry my country with me—and I’m ready to put on for where I came from.
