Damian Hottendorf '25 Recruiting Profile

Aloha! My name is Damian Hottendorf,

I am a senior at a public charter school called Ke Kula ʻo Samuel M. Kamakau, which is a Hawaiian immersion school in Oʻahu, Hawaii. I have an average grade of mostly A's and B's and earned a GPA score of 3.7/4.0 my 2023-2024 school year. My interests are filmography and photography, but I am open to other career options as I look into different colleges. I am also bilingual speaking both fluent English and ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian).

On the athletic side, I played JV baseball for Castle High School during my freshman year. I realized baseball might not be the sport for me, thus starting my first year ever running track, with the track & field team for Castle High School. I have improved a lot each year, with PR improvements of up to a second for 100M, 2 seconds for 200M, and more than 10 seconds for the 400M. Even now, I continue to make small but apparent PR's every track meet during my high school season, which makes me confident that I can reach new heights for myself this upcoming senior season! 

I am a very patient, fast adapting, and aspiring student-athlete not only in the athletics department, but in my academics as well, and I only strive to become a better person in every way, shape, and form. I continue to do off season training at my local track facility, as well as fast-twitch muscle training at the gym. I truly hope that the coach reading this could consider me as a great opportunity to help me and to guide me on my way to become a better athlete, or human in general.
