Jay Murphy '27 Recruiting Profile

My interest in track began when my brother singed to St. Ambrose University after his senior year of high school. That brother, Geoffrey Murphy, is also my mentor and one of my many coaches in shot put and discus. I have been throwing since I was in 5th Grade at MGS. During my 8th Grade year I started getting more help from Coach Jim "Kappa" Kasap and my throwing career really ramped up with me winning meet after meet in both Discus and Shot put. I ended my 8th Grade year with 3rd in Sectional throwing 133.7 in discus.
