As a student athlete, I dream of one day attending a college that can fulfill my dreams to graduate with a degree but also be a part of an athletic team at that high of a level. I started track and field in 7th grade, and jumping just seemed to be my niche. Going back a little, in 6th grade I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. That seemed to take a toll on my abilities as an athlete, but by 8th grade year I was back to doing 5 sports year round. Football in the fall, Swimming and Basketball in the winter, Track in the spring and Baseball over the summer. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease and Epilepsy within three months of that year. I was determined to overcome. My 8th grade year I broke all 8 individual swimming records at my middle school, along with the long standing high jump record of 6'2". Today as a sophomore in high school, I have been working to make my dreams become a reality. My perseverance has been very rewarding to me in sports, school and life as a whole and I feel that I could have the same affect with your team.
