My name is Yerosen Daba. I am a 16-year-old athlete in grade eleven from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I train under RossAnn Edwards with Riversdale Athletics’ middle-distance group three times a week and do my own off-day training three times a week. This is a combination of speed work, tempo runs, as well as easy recovery runs. In total, it accumulates to twelve hours of training weekly. Outside of training, I am also a coach for the junior development program as I feel it is important to share my knowledge to the next generation of athletes. Track and field was introduced to me recently and in a short span of time it has become the most important thing in my life. Every time I step onto the track, it is with a great sense of ambition and a determination to strive and work to my full potential. Although I place a strong emphasis on track and field, I also achieve greatly in school and I spend time with my family and friends. In a competitive environment, I not only benefit myself, but I uplift those around me, too. Track and field is very important to me and I will do whatever it takes to compete at the next level.
