Dear Sir/Ma'am
2021 is my final year in High School and as I start wrapping up my school career I am ending with two goals in mind - to train and compete at a first world level while doing my teaching degree at an American campus!
I am convinced that because of the greater competition and training intensity that an athlete like myself would be exposed to in America, my level of performance and times for my specific events would drastically improve. The NAIA competition circuits just can't compare to our Provincial circuits in South Africa; exposure to other teams, the level of training, the quality facilities, the team dynamics and the amazing insight for my passion!! It would just open my mind and body to a whole new leveI.
Up to now I have always run with books under my arms and I find that both running and studying stimulate each other. I have always worked hard to improve my personal running goals, work ethic, understanding regardless of how demanding the subject is. I consider myself above average academically.
I do strongly regard myself as an all round athlete who has self confidence in everything I do, I am comfortable around people and a very social person, I have a strong sense of motivation, I have a strong inner desire to succeed in both my sport and academics as an athletes biggest competition is always themselves, I have good discipline, I am a natural leader both on and off the field and this is proven with my selection as a Prefect, Cross Country and Athletics Captain in High School, I will always welcome criticism to help me improve, I will always fight until the end and lastly I enjoy and appreciate the gift that I have been blessed with of being able to run.
As 2022 draws near I look forward to what the future holds. It is an exciting chapter to look forward and I hope a successful 4 year career on the track and in the books.
