Going into college, I want to become the best version of myself possible. Having been running for close to 3 years, I understand that track and cross country is not a sport where you can take it easy and put the weight of a competition on the rest of the team. The results of a meet are made based on each athletes performance rather than a few. Knowing that, I work as hard as possible during practice and out of practice to not only improve upon my own athletic ability, but to contribute everything I have and push past the pain to contribute to my team’s growth. Starting cross country freshman year, I ran a 21:10. I have now taken that down to a 17:26 in two seasons. This mindset is not only important for me to have through running, but also in an academic sense. I have went through high school with a 4.0 GPA freshman year and a 4.31 GPA Sophomore year. As of now, I’ve held that GPA this far through Junior year. This has taken many long hours of work and dedication. This is something I carry through everything I do which is why I believe I am a good candidate for college athletics. Along with perusing an academic collegiate career, I also wish to peruse a career in marine science and go on to get a PhD to study Sharks. I do have goals of competing on a Division I level.
