Throughout my life, I have always enjoyed playing sports, being active, and competition. I feel like all three of these things have played a part in forming me into the person I am today. These things have helped me keep up to par with the work ethic that is required in running. About four years ago is when I started running cross country and track. My mom and my grandparents played a huge role in influencing me to try running. I decided to try it and never turned back after that, and at the conclusion of my first cross country season, I decided to focus on running because I found a passion and love for running.
I was lucky enough to be a part of a program that has seemingly always been successful. Being a part of the varsity team for the past 2 years has shown me that success is not easy to achieve and that camaraderie plays an important role in the success of the team. It has also taught me about selflessness. I’m looking for a program that is the right fit for me academically and a team that I can contribute to. One of the most challenging obstacles I have faced in my running career has to be the mind. The mind plays such a powerful role in running and is something that I am currently working on. I believe that with my work-ethic, patience, and drive I will be able to help bring success to your program. Athletics is nothing without academics, so I try to find a balance between both. At some points, it has proved to be tough but I have always found a way to make it work.
