Luke Daigneault '13 Recruiting Profile

Dear College Recruiters and Coaches,

     I am a prospective Cross-Country/Track runner at Smithsburg High School. I began track in the spring of my freshman year, and I haven't stopped running since. During my sophomore year, I took 9th In the Maryland State Cross-Country Championships. Later that school year, I ran a 4:52 1600m and a 10:23 3200m which I took 6th in the Maryland State Outdoor Track and Field Championships. After my sophomore year, I logged many miles over the summer which led me to best time in Cross-Country of 16:04 (3 miles) in my current junior year. I led my team to qualify for States, winning the 1A West region individually. I went on to be the state runner-up. I am now facing the Indoor Track season in which I plan to work my hardest to win the 1A Title at the state meet. Ever since I went to Jim Ryun Running Camp in the summer of '11, it has been my goal to run in college. I do not have a preference on size or type of school. My only true criteria is that the school has a Cross-Country, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track along with my intended major (I'm in the process of deciding between a Political Science or Pre-Law major). As for my goals, I simply want to be the absolute best I can be; I want to do whatever it takes to meet my ultimate potential. I am extremely easy to coach and I respond very well to feedback. When I find out I'm doing something wrong, I work my absolute best to fix it until I am satisfied. That is something else I can promise: My absolute best in and out of the classroom. I am currently an above 4.0 student and I intend to work my hardest to keep it that way. I am a Christian, and I believe that God gives us our gifts to use for his glory. I intend to continue to set personal bests throughout this coming Indoor and Outdoor season of my Junior year, and I hope to hear from some of you soon.
