In middle school track, I found I enjoyed running the 1600m. By the end of my eighth grade year, I ran 4.41 and was one of the fastest middle school track runners in the state. My family and I made the decision for me to transfer to a larger school district to start my freshman year. As a three sport athlete and an excellent student, the opportunity to participate in athletics at a D1 high school and to take advantage of the academics was the way to go.
Over the last four years at Ann Arbor Pioneer High School, I have had the opportunity to participate in cross country, basketball, and track with some very gifted athletes, and be a part of Conference, Regional and State winning teams. This past year, my junior year, I chose to no longer play basketball, and focus on running indoor track during the winter. I am confident the decision to run year round is going to help me improve my times and achieve my goal of being a college athlete!
