I've grown up watching my older sisters run track and immediately was drawn to the sport. I found myself imitating the athletes by jumping in the pits and racing my friends. It took me a while to find my niche, I played every sport I could growing up but nothing really suited me until I discovered track. I love the thrill and hurdles are the most thrilling event for me.
Throughout my years as an athlete, I've learned how to be a leader and when to be a follower. I handle criticism well and take it as a learning opportunity to get better. I have developed a sense of self-discipline from being a three sport athlete, being involved in 4-H, my church, and my personal weight training program. My goals while attending college are to graduate pre-med and compete on the track team, which is a lofty challenge but does not deter me from it.
I have high standards for myself and others around me. I know I can be an asset to any team and have the urge to compete at the next level.
