I started running track as a sophomore in order to get faster for football. That year I gravitated toward the hurdles and was just starting to excel when half my season was cut short due to an injury. This year I picked up where I left off with a 17.20 PR in the 110 highs and 45.00 PR in the 300 IH at my first meet. As the season went on I continued to PR in every race. At districts I ran a PR of 41.75 in the 300 IH and in the 110 HH I broke the school record with the time of 15.27. The next week at the sectional track meet I took first place in the 110 HH with a time of 14.95.
With being one of the only upperclassmen on the track team, I had to step up and be a leader. My work ethic and commitment towards track has made me decide to continue my track career into college. I look forward to track practice every day because I want to always do better. I'm interested in any size college in the Midwest, but I'm open to any region. My academic interest included Criminal Justice, Pre-Law, Sports Medicine, or Physical Therapy. My family will be applying for financial assistance though FAFSA. With all the hard work I have put into track so far, I would like to see how far (and fast) I can go.
