I am looking for a college where I can continue to learn and grow as a student-athlete, a leader, and as a person. I understand that the running development process often takes a while, as well as the fact that lows are just as inevitable as high points. Therefore, I want to find a school and coaching staff that greatly fits my needs and can help me to develop into the best student, athlete, and leader that I can possibly become.
As for the academic aspect, I would like to pursue a master's degree in either Kinesiology (Exercise Science) or Athletic training, with the possibility of take a pre-med route as well. If an accelerated 4+1, or 3+2 master's program is offered, that would also be ideal as long as I would still have the time to practice and compete. In high school, I maintain a 3.8 grade point average and participate in rigorous Honors and AP classes. These experiences have helped expose me to characteristics of leadership, problem-solving, ingenuity, responsibility, and service. High school has also taught me to take risks and initiative in order to learn from my mistakes and continue to improve.
I understand that falling short of my goals and making mistakes are both inevitable, which is why I love to learn from my mistakes and attain new knowledge in order to better myself. This in turn helps me to remain a coachable, flexible, and open-minded student-athlete that loves to help and work with others.
In reflection, I am confident that I am a great candidate for any team because of my leadership skills, my mental resilience and perseverance, my open-mindedness, and finally - my determination to bounce back from mistakes and failure in order to always improve.
