Davis Butts '26 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Davis Butts, and I have been a part of track and field since 7th grade. From the moment I began pole vaulting, I have been hooked on the sport. The thought of clearing the next bar, and the level of skill has kept me striving for more.

I am excited to compete at the collegiate level and better advance my skills. The thought of competing at the collegiate level keeps me pushing harder to improve my technique, and speed. I hope to attend a college where I can excel both in the classroom, and in sports.

I began pole vaulting in the spring of 2024, my sophomore year, competing for my high school, Excel Christian. The sport has taught me to be mentally tough, and to persevere. I enjoy every moment of the sport and know that with the right mindset, anything is achievable. I was excited to be awarded co captain for this year's track and field team.

I believe that being a student comes before being an athlete, and I strive to push myself in the classroom, and maintain a good GPA.
